Fast Forward Drug Treatment Walk In Clinics

Latrobe Community Health Service has established new Fast Forward Drug Treatment Walk In Clinics in Moe, Morwell, Warragul and Sale.

Jeff Gavin, Manager Drug Treatment Services explains that the Fast Forward clinics take a ‘no wrong door’ approach, providing easy access for anyone who requires services relating to alcohol and other drugs and mental health issues.

“New clients can easily access the services they need by simply turning up to a Fast Forward clinic on one of the days they operate,” Mr Gavin explains.  “The duty worker will then go through an Initial Needs Identification, where they gather some basic information to work out a treatment plan that will provide the most assistance to each client.”

“The Fast Forward clinics have allowed us to reduce the delays between initial contact and treatment from up to five weeks to the same or next day,” Mr Gavin adds.  “This means we can improve outcomes for clients and their families and reduce any anxiety experienced during a long wait for treatment.”
