Description: • Early Childhood Intervention (ECIS) – (0-6yo or school entry) Aims to provide THERAPY ONLY to parents and families of children with significant developmental delay. • Early Choices-Short Term (EARS) – (0-6yo or school entry) Aims to assist children with a diagnosed permanent disability, their families and carers with purchase of specific equipment / assessment needs. – i.e. Second Skin, A&EP top up, and sensory aides. • Short Term Assistance Packages (STAP) (6-65yo) Discretionary funding to assist individuals with diagnosed disabilities to remain at home and in the community. -i.e. Specific Equipment, A&EP top up funding, second skin Requested items to relate to disability for all packages above.
Eligibility Criteria: • ECIS - 0 years to 6 (school aged) Children with significant delays identified. Referrals for therapy to come through Department of Education and Early Childhood Development – Early Childhood Intervention intake team Gippsland wide ECIS ineligible if attending school EARS – 0 years to 6 (school aged) - Diagnosed permanent disability that fits DHS criteria as stated in the Disability Act 2006 i.e.-Significant, Permanent. STAP – 6 years to 65 – diagnosed disability must meet the DHS disability criteria as stated in the Disability Act 2006. Conditions excluded :- ADD, ADHD Aspergers, Mental Illness and Chronic Illness (unless identified intellectual or physical disability associated with these conditions)
