Watch fresh fruit and vegetables be transformed into a healthy and delicious snack before your eyes through pedal power with a Blender Bike, now available for hire through Latrobe Community Health Service.

Targeted at community events or workplaces interested in improving the health and wellbeing of staff, the Blender Bike shows how simple and quick it is to create a snack from fresh ingredients.

Christina Rush, Manager, Primary Prevention, at Latrobe Community Health Service said the bike is a fun way of teaching people how to make healthy snacks while being active.

“Pedalling the bike powers the blender. You can see just how quick and easy it is to make a breakfast smoothie,” said Ms Rush.

“We provide recipe sheets to help inspire your staff to increase their daily consumption of fruit and vegetables.

“The Blender Bike can add some interactive fun to your next workplace function, healthy living day, or fundraising event.”

Ms Rush said workplaces could save almost $6 for every $1 invested in employee health and wellbeing.

“The healthiest Australian employees are three times more productive at work and take fewer sick days,” she said.
