Carers from East Gippsland have the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved break with free lunch and great music at the Tinamba Hotel to celebrate Carers Week.

The event will take place on Thursday 15 October, with transport to the hotel provided, and respite available for carers who may need it in order to attend.

“Latrobe Community Health Service recognises the valuable role carers play in our community,” said Denise Bromiley, Manager Carer Programs at Latrobe Community Health Service.

“We aim to support carers through their caring journey by providing free events, activities and workshops, which also serve to provide respite from their caring role,” said Ms Bromiley.

Carers Week, which runs from12-19 October, is celebrated nationally every year.

It recognises and celebrates the 2.6 million Australians who provide
ongoing, unpaid care and support to family members or friends who may be frail and elderly or have dementia, a mental illness, a disability, chronic illness or complex needs, or receives palliative care.
