Every year, the life and experience of older people in our community is celebrated on 1 October, the International Day of Older Persons.

Latrobe Community Health Service offers many ways for older people to remain active and socially included.

1. Volunteer your time and skills
Whether you are looking to develop a social connection, learn new skills, make new friends, help others or participate in the community, Latrobe Community Health Service has a volunteer role for you. Visit www.lchs.com.au/volunteer for more information.

2. Move more for your health
It’s important to exercise to stay in good health. There are several walking groups in Newborough, Churchill and Traralgon. Visit www.lchs.com.au/community/exercise.

3. Join a planned activity group
A planned activity group is a group that meets to enjoy doing things together in a friendly and supportive environment. These activities are targeted at seniors.
They are held in Moe, Morwell and Churchill with transport and meals provided. Visit www.lchs.com.au/ aged-disability-carers/aged-care.
